A hold-down and release mechanism (HDRM) is an electromechanical system designed to securely restrain an object until a controlled release is required.

Being a small company that was experiencing increased product demand, Oncrux needed to improve their throughput on dispensing rock climbing chalk product into bags that are packaged and shipped to their distributors. Their current operation was very manual and in order to meet their increasing customer demand, a semi-automated chalk filling system that prepared up to 80 bags at once was required.
